Abstract:
Installation art has numerous elements to bring a concept to the physical world, so the viewer can experience the artist’s vision in three dimensions. To achieve this, artists must have an understanding of the space, design, and medium of their work to make the room coalesce with their concepts. My work is about a physical experience of the relationship between the memory system and memories.
In this paper, the focus is on the memory system, the development of my forms that represent memories and false memories, and the space of the installations. During the time spent working on my degree, I developed an understanding of my materials and the spaces they will fill. Hopefully by the end of this program I will have further evolved in relation to the designing of spaces for my forms and concepts.
