Title: Adoption staff perceptions of the important elements in post-adoption services
Author: Kaiser, Emily S.
Abstract: The purpose of this research was to gather information on post-adoption services so that a post-adoption service program could be implemented. The current literature on the topic supports the idea that adoptive families need post-adoption services to be available. The researcher interviewed six adoption staff at three different adoption agencies. One supervisor and one social worker were interviewed from each adoption agency. The participants were asked 10 open-ended questions on post-adoption services. The data from this study supported the need for post-adoption services to be available for adoptive families. Participants indicated that education and therapy are the most-important services for families that adopt children from the foster care system.
