| Title: | Some characteristics of the Chinese in Indonesia |
| Author: | Liem, Stewart K.L. |
| Abstract: | Dutch colonial power ruled in Indonesia for roughly two and one-half centuries. As early as the sixteenth century the Chinese immigrant had come to Indonesia, first in small numbers, but increasingly thereafter until the Chinese constituted a significant ethnic minority in the twentieth century. This study is a historical descriptive analysis of the Chinese community under two contrasting policies in Indonesia, one in the colonial period, and one in the post colonial period. |
