This project focuses on the experimental study of 3-element linear antenna array operating in the X-band frequency range of 8-12 GHz. The main application of the array design is in microwave hyperthermia treatment of tumors by focused radiation. Typically, the center element of the array acts as a focusing element while the surrounding elements act as directing elements. The central focusing element can be moved axially to adjust the focus point of the near-field electric field. In this project different array elements such as open-ended waveguides and conical horns are used, and the measured results were compared with simulation. |
