Title: The fallen cross
Author: Dreisbach, Verna Lynne
Abstract: In the time of the German resistance, a brother and a sister risk their lives and the lives of their family to fight for freedom and justice. The Fallen Cross gives an intimate look into the life of a prominent German family and all that they sacrificed during the time of Hitler’s reign. The Fallen Cross is a heartbreaking, yet hopeful account of humanity and survival – of the overwhelming desire to live, even in the most dire of circumstances. It is the story of Anthony, a Roman Catholic priest, whose religious beliefs are challenged and tested when he learns of Hitler’s plans to exterminate the Jews. It is also the story of Anthony’s sister, Cathrin, a beautiful German prima ballerina dancing for Hitler in Munich while secretly involved as a spy to save as many Jews as possible.
